Ford is issuing a safety recall for 350,000 pickup trucks and SUVs. The recall is to fix mechanical issues on select 2017 and 2017 F-150 and Expedition model vehicles.
Reportedly, the gear shift cable locking clip is potentially unseated, which could cause the transmission to stay in a different gear than what the driver chooses. For example, if the vehicle is placed in park, it could remain in drive and continue to move.
Dealers will double check the installation of the shift cable locking clip, being certain it is in place, and working properly. If the locking clip is not in place, it will be secured at no charge.
The recall reference number is 18S10, and affects 2018 F-150, F-650 and F-750 trucks and 2018 Expeditions equipped with six- and 10-speed automatic transmissions.
